It’s age-defying.
Conspiracy theorists on Reddit believe they’ve spotted a Bigfoot speed-walking in the background of a two-decade-old nature documentary.
The clip in question is from the 2001 film Great North, during which director William Reeve and his “skeleton crew” explored the “high north of Quebec” near the Arctic Circle in Canada.
The shadowy creature – which appears to be walking on two legs and upright like a gorilla – was filmed on a massive giant, which can be heard running submerged in a local water source. The unidentified beast, which seems out of place in the area, moves in the opposite direction.
A user on Reddit recently posted the high-definition footage to a site dedicated to finding Bigfoot, reigniting the debate that first sparked during an interview with Reeves eight years ago.
He spoke to YouTube site ThinkerThunker and admitted he didn’t even notice the unidentified species until 15 years after the shooting. Reeves claimed that human intervention in the iconic sudden strike was highly unlikely in the desert region.
“There were no strangers for hundreds of miles from where we were,” Reeves said, doubling down that no one on his team was on the other side of the water.
The director and the cinematographer behind the lens also shed water on the possible sighting of the bear.
“If a bear had been chasing it would have been running on all fours and in a horizontal position,” he said.
“This object we’re seeing is more upright and appears to be running on two legs.”
For skeptics who wonder how Bigfoot sightings have occurred across the globe and endured for decades, it’s because it’s not a single entity, say true believers.
“It’s a very basic meaning that has more than one meaning. Sometimes people see two at a time, and sometimes it looks like adults and juveniles together,” Matthew Moneymaker, who runs the Bigfoot Field Searchers Organization and hosted the long-running Animal Planet series “Finding Bigfoot,” previously told The Post. .
“The only misconception that comes with the idea that we hear the word Bigfoot or Sasquatch: it sounds like a single thing, which is why we all always emphasize the plurality of Sasquatches AND Big feet.
And, since the unknown Québécois moved in an ape-like manner, this only strengthens the speculation considering the perceived origins of Bigfoot.
A team of researchers from the University of Arizona speculate that, if true, Sasquatches descend from an ancient giant ape called Gigantopithecus from the days of early humans.
“They were hunted to extinction by Homo erectus,” Moneymaker added.
“We believe these were the ones that were smart enough to avoid being hunted by adopting a strategy of being nocturnal and always retreating into confrontations with humans.”
